In Dead Space, you play the role of Isaac Clark, an engineer in charge of a small task force on a deep space investigation of a huge ship that has lost all contact with the starship command center. When you arrive at the ship, be prepared for a science fiction horror fest that will, through superb lighting and sound effects, build the perfect moment to scare you right out of your chair.

The only bad points that we can find in the game is there are sometimes bad camera angles and frame drops. These two problems rarely present themselves, but they do present themselves at inopportune times in middle of heavy action battles. With that said, the game is played in an over the shoulder first person view, which does lend itself to these types of problems. On the other hand, this camera view does make the scare factor in the game much more intense. Overall, this tradeoff was a great choice on the part of the game developers at Electronic Arts.

The perfect alien atmosphere, the sharp graphics, the intense sounds, and the great voice acting, combine with a very good storyline to make Dead Space one of the best action horror games ever made. Dead Space can be played at multiple difficulties and would take at least three run-throughs to try out all of the upgrades, giving the game a few days of replay value. We give the game a 9.2 rating, which puts Dead Space in our Top 10 Xbox 360 games list. We recommend that you hold off on buying this game at the higher retail prices, but instead rent the game or buy the game much cheaper online.
